Digital tools for nonprofits and charities

What you need is not more technology but technology that genuinely works: the kind your team can run without specialist help, your supporters can use without frustration, and your funders can see the value in. That is the gap we exist to fill.

We build websites, web applications and digital tools for nonprofits and charities, and we build them to do a real job, whether that job is telling your story, raising money, running a programme, or proving your impact. We build them properly, we keep them running, and we are the kind of partner who actually answers the phone.

We understand the constraints you work within

Most digital agencies are built around clients with deep pockets and short attention spans, and charities are simply a different proposition. We have spent years learning that difference, and it shapes everything we do.

We know that your budgets are tight and closely scrutinised, because every pound spent on technology is a pound not spent on your mission, which is why we are honest with you about what you need as opposed to what you do not, and why we build things that are cheap to run rather than merely cheap to buy. We know that your team is stretched and that you do not have a technical department, so whatever we build has to be something a non-technical colleague can manage without calling a developer every time a page needs to change. We know that you answer to funders and trustees who need to see that money was well spent and that the thing works, so we build with reporting, measurement and accountability in mind from the very start.

We also take accessibility seriously, because your audiences include people with disabilities, people on older devices and people on slow connections, and we build to recognised accessibility standards as a baseline rather than as an afterthought. And we understand that you are here for the long term, because a website that breaks in eighteen months for want of maintenance is worse than no website at all, which is precisely why we stay involved.

What we build for organisations like yours

We build websites that do the work, which means clear, fast and accessible sites that tell your story and move people to act, whether that action is to donate, to sign up, or simply to understand an issue, and we build them so that your own team can keep them up to date without us. We build fundraising and supporter tools, from donation flows and campaign pages through to the systems behind them, designed to convert and built to hold up on your busiest day of the year.

We build programme and impact tools, which are custom web applications that run a real part of your operation, whether that is collecting data in the field, tracking outcomes, or managing a programme, turning what you do into something you can measure and report. And we do the data and reporting work that pulls your information together so that you can see what is happening and show funders the difference you make, without needing a data analyst on the staff.

Where it genuinely helps, we bring in AI that saves your team time or makes sense of your data, and we are careful to keep your data yours rather than handing it to a third party. We host everything on efficient, low-carbon infrastructure, because a sustainability mission and a heavy, wasteful website do not sit comfortably together.

Proof, not promises

We work with organisations doing serious environmental and social work, and a few examples give a sense of it. The Blue Carbon Geonode is a data platform that maps the world's blue carbon ecosystems and makes complex environmental data usable for researchers and policymakers. Our work with GRID-Arendal on Debunking Plastic Myths produced a public-facing site for a UN-partnered environmental communications centre, turning research into something the public could engage with. The Net Positive Life App helps people understand and reduce their own environmental footprint. None of these is hypothetical; each is live, supported, and built for an organisation whose mission was the point of the work.

How we work with you

We do not hand over a project and vanish. Our way of working is built around staying involved, which means fixing things when they break, improving them as you grow, and, when you are ready, helping you bring the work in-house rather than locking you into permanent dependence on us. We also begin by working out what is genuinely worth building, and sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need a new website at all but rather need three things fixed on the old one. When that is the case, we will tell you.

Let's talk

If you are a nonprofit or charity with a digital project in mind, or simply a problem you are not yet sure how to solve, tell us about it. There is no jargon and no hard sell at our end, just a conversation about whether we are the right people to help.
